Always wanted to be a part of one of the social clubs in university couldn’t find how the experience would be if you join one. In this article, I will cover my experience how advantageous it can be to involve in a social club in the University.
Clubs or Social Club is actually a group of people being together and working towards a common goal. There can be many different varieties of clubs or social club such as academic, social, or cultural clubs each having their own unique purpose. Joining this type of clubs has many advantages such as you are able to meet new people with whom you spend a considerate amount of time and can be lifelong friends. Likewise, it can help you to improve your skills by getting involve in the activities that the club are doing or build up a lifelong experience or friendship.
Let me share my experience of being in one of the clubs and benefits of acting as a one of the important members of the club. At first, when you join the club you will be unknown to each other where you might not even know each other name for couple of weeks. Slowly, once you catch up with them you start knowing about their likes and dislikes plus their strengths and weakness. This is your opportunity to learn the good things from one another and share your knowledge. As a matter of fact, you will learn things from the club members or your peers much quicker than studying the book or discovering it yourself. This is your time to shine, not a moment to be shy and be a worthless member of the club. It’s a period to learn and grow together, where you also learn some of the key skills like communication, working in a team as well as how to interact with individuals and understand each other personal space. Through this key contribution in the club you will surely make an impact in the club as well as the university, which can be to successfully organize an event or promote event (if your club does one). This will set you apart from the other individual as you are going to have some real-life experience and how things work in the real world which will help to boost your confidence. This is how you improve in life by taking all the small steps (action) to reach your destination. Throughout your journey you will surely meet with lots of people where you have a chance to learn from others and improve your soft as well as technical skills.
Finally, through all this benefits it does takes a significant amount of time from your day to day life which after a year becomes very valuable and can be reflected in your resume and further represent to your employers in future.
